Do the Cards dump rosen and draft Murray? Also, if you are not one of the top 3 or 4 QB prospects and you fall to later picks/rounds, is there a better scenario than to get picked by the Patriots?
It's funny, I haven't watched a full NFL game in probably a couple of decades, but am intrigued by the moves the teams make and the off field strategies.

I think Murray is another RGIII... he'll be great until he gets crushed, then his career will be over... I don't get NFL teams that continually draft running QB's thinking their athletic ability will make up for their pocket passer shortcomings. Kaep is 6' 4" RGIII is 6' 2" Michael is Vick 6' 0" Russell Wilson 5' 11" Keap - relied on his size and athleticism, until teams figured out he couldn't read defenses, they just stuffed the box and made him try to pass. RGII - tore his LCL and ACL his rookie season, and was washed up by his 3rd season. Vick - survived because he has NFL level pocket passing skills and could read defenses, and while he can run, has learned not to. Wilson - has NFL level QB intelligence. pocket passing skills, and while he can run, has learned not to. Murray is 5" 10", and will need a system built around him, like Seattle did for Wilson. Thats RARE.
I don't see that happening.

I can see Dalton as a patriot.... but I'd hope he stays with the Bengals for one more year.... so they get another draft for the Oline... and Burrow can get a year as backup

The Bungs will keep him long enough to get Burrow up to snuff on the playbook and run a few practices and then Andy gets shipped to New England for a couple weeks practice up there before the season starts. The Bungs ain’t paying Dalton 17m to backup and they ain’t paying Burrow 37m to sit. I could be wrong.

Dalton just got released!
I'd love to see him with the Pats... he's gonna be about half the cost of a top tier QB, he's only 32, he's a good "face of the franchise" and he could start straight away.... fits Belechik perfect...
Could be Jacksonville though... FL is a no personal income tax state...

Local sports talk says Belechik doesn’t think he’s tall enough. I’d take JVille if it was my choice.

Me neither... but it makes sense from a leverage perspective...
They couldn't get Cam... he's a diva and easily sends a threatening message to Dak....
Dalton is a sort of a stealth threat... he's actually got good stats.. and a cannon for an arm... and if Dak holds out... Dalton is a good sub...

Yeah, plus he lives near Houston and they say he has a home in Dallas and he went to TCU, so going home isn’t surprising.

Mahomes 10 years $500million. Amazing. He seems like a good kid, let's hope he stays that way. On one hand, I think that this much money is ridiculous. On the other hand, it's the market at work and if I could get it, I would do it too.

Contract Terms: 10 yr(s) / $470,000,000 base/$503,000,000 assuming he meets all qualifiers Signing Bonus: $10,000,000 Average Salary: $45,000,000 Guaranteed at Sign: $63,081,905 Total Guaranteed: $141,481,905 So, in reality, only $63,081,905 is guaranteed money... (signing bonus + 2020 salary + 2021 salary + 2021 roster bonus + 2022 salary + 2022 roster bonus) The remaining $78M in guaranteed money is spread over the remaining 11 years.... which he likely won't finish (avg QB career is 4.4 years), and Mahomes has to be on the roster and go through preseason workout to get that remaining $78M. If he gets hurt and misses, he loses out. It's a year-to-year deal starting in 2023.
For comparison.... lets look at how it stacks up vs. Mike Trouts contract:
Contract Terms: 12 yr(s) / $426,000,000 base Signing Bonus: $20,000,000 Average Salary: $37,666,6666 Guaranteed at Sign: $426,500,000 Total Guaranteed: $426,500,000
Trout gets hurt and can't ever play again.... $426,500,000
Mahomes gets hurt and can't ever play again....... $63,081,905
Mahomes should have played baseball.....
