NS has alluded to there being a gag order in place that kept him from talking about the agreement.... so for it to be made public has to be some kinda of violation of that order...
... unless Perry agreed to it...

The tweets Deen sent out regarding NOT returning to JRNY and his tour commitment to Dead Daisies are now gone, just as a data point.

Maybe, or maybe he just realized that he is way better off saying nothing about it either way. Though taking it down now leads to increased speculation. Perhaps they should ask Randy Jackson and Michael Baird back. Complete the 1985 history of firings circuit.

They could call the new album "Resurrection"..... and prop up Larrie Londin (RIP) behind the kit like Weekend at Bernie's

Ross and Smith are still showing on the website, which hasn't been updated in at least 4 months.
BTW, I get taking the time off the road for a break, but when your website is poorly organized and managed, it makes your band look like amateurs. This is a multi million dollar business and they can't pay a guy to put out a press release on the website every couple of weeks to keep interest up? With so much history and music, they could post something daily for a decade and never repeat. Seems like Herbie would have been all over that if the web was around in his heyday.

This is a multi million dollar business and they can't pay a guy to put out a press release on the website every couple of weeks to keep interest up? With so much history and music, they could post something daily for a decade and never repeat. Seems like Herbie would have been all over that if the web was around in his heyday. They're still there. And I don't accept that the coronavirus shutdown has anything to do with it. Anyone who works in web design can work from home. Easily. Perhaps the lawsuit has things on hold.
But still. The pictures are not good, particularly the headshots on the bios. They look like my highschool daughter's photography class used Arnel, Jon, Neal, and Ross as a class project. Find some great pictures from the past if need be, but keep it fresh. Shut up, I know pictures from the past may not sound fresh, but if they are rotated or we haven't seen them then they are. The whole site needs a serious refresh.
And don't point me to Facebook. It severely limits what anyone can do and is the easy way out for a web presence. It gets a lot of clicks, but can't possibly show the greatness that is Journey. If you have to, use it to drive traffic to your website where you can show who you are.
I guess I shouldn't care, but I do. I get that new music isn't coming most likely, and that even if it did, it wouldn't be as great (how can anything be) as what the band put out in the golden years, and probably won't be embraced by the masses nor make any money. I'm OK with that. And I get why the band would not be OK with that, particularly the not making money part.
But you are one of the greatest rock bands of all time! You are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! You have sold more than 70 MILLION albums! Show some dignity, boys. Your website, merchandising, memorabilia, and marketing should be second to none. I am certain that there are dozens, no hundreds, at least of fans worldwide who would take up the mantle of ensuring that your website at minimum was worthy of your name. If you aren't interested in the money - which you are, hence the lawsuit - do it for the fans.
Show these punks who pass for musicians today what a REAL BAND is capable of, even after 45+ years. Drive this bus like KISS has with merchandising for 4 decades (no costumes needed). You were smeared with the "corporate rock" label 35+ years ago, might as well take advantage of it now. Show them corporate rock.
OK. Rant over. For now.

I used to be a moderator on the original Journey forums (Backtalk). CJ brought me on there...
I got to chat with her hubby a lot (mod chat)... and he told me the band is really clueless about social media...
Ironic considering how foward-thinking they were with Herbie managing them....

This is a long read, click on the link in the actual story to see the countersuit. Here is Ross's counter suit against Neal and Jon. I knew that there was another side of the story. Interesting that Ross claims Arnel said he would not perform unless Neal and Ross greenlighted a movie with Warner Brothers. Not sure if it was the documentary or something else. Also, Ross claims that the Journey Through Time band is what started the whole thing. Reading this, I won't be surprised if Journey, much less Journey Through Time, never performs again.

Wow.. so this whole thing was caused by Schon trying to get “Neal Schon Journey Through Time” trademarked..... and then having a hissyfit when Nightmare lawyers told him they had to oppose it to protect the Journey mark under Nightmare stewardship...
Schon and Cain look like fucking weasels....
Sounds like Arnel is done.....

Arnel still resides in the Philippines. He should never have to worry about money for the rest of his life, considering his cost of living there is far less than the rest of the band members. I think he's set for life, no matter what happens. This thing is a hot mess.

Any updates on this, other than the videos with Jackson and Walden? Seems like Neal and Jon must be pretty sure of their case if they are putting video out with those guys in it. It's one thing to say Ross and Smith are out and announce replacements, but to perform with the new guys seems pretty final. Not that Ross and Smith won't get some cash out of the deal - maybe - but I don't see them ever with Jon or Neal again.
Also, have Perry, Herbie, Augeri, Soto or Rolie weighed in publicly at all on this? I know that Rolie has been gone for decades and from what I have seen has no business interests in the band, but with his playing with Neal in the JTT band, etc. I just wondered what his thoughts were.

I'm pretty sure the corporate structure of Journey (the band) makes the members of the band actually employees of the Journey corporation. Journey (the band) is likely a subsidiary with Jon and Neal likely have some sort of senior management authority final say over the rest of the members when it comes to band-only related issues. This is how Neal and Jon can "fire" Ross and Smith. Their participation in Journey (the band) is as employees-for-hire. And since California is an "at-will" state they can be terminated without cause, which they were...
So for them, putting out videos with Jackson and Walden is really not that big of a deal.
NS, JC, SP, HH, RV and SS are shareholders in Nightmare, and are all likely gagged from talking about anything.
Arnel is too smart to get involved...
Augeri, Soto, Rolie are also likely not going to say much... I'd bet they all have exit agreements where they agree not to disparage the Journey name...
I wouldn't engage in this shitshow either.....

Augeri posted something on his FB at the time of the firings saying "If you only knew." Some speculated this was about Ross getting sacked, as allegedly SA and Ross still talk. Videos and content doesn't really indicate much of anything regarding the ongoing legal matter. Remember - Geoff Tate quickly pushed out a Queensryche album to show he had ownership. Pretty soon after, he lost the rights to the name.
