I have started using a new browser called Vivaldi. vivaldi.comIt is available in Windows and Android, not sure about iphone. I used Firefox for years, preferring it over Chrome or Microsoft anything. It is made by the original developers of Opera which I used a decade or more ago. It's really customizable, Chrome extensions work in it and privacy is a big part of its build. Firefox updated their Android version to crap, so I wanted something not chrome (I really avoid anything google that I can and don't trust anything they say about privacy) that would sync across my pc and phone. Seems really good so far.

The only way to avoid Google.. is to avoid anything Google.
I used to use Opera a long time ago... loved it then.. still testing it now.. will prolly delete it since Opera now is based on Chrome... Vivaldi is Chromium based. Chromium is a free and open-source software project from Google. So Vivaldi has Chome in its DNA.

Apple isn't an option due to several factors. Is Google data min7ng, etc. from everything chrome based as well? Any other alternatives? I don't want opera due to the Chinese ownership, though I used to use it and liked it. I need something that syncs android and windows.

I would just use Firefox... because its open sourced code. It syncs across platforms..
Opera, Chrome and Vivaldi aren't.... open source code to my knowldge

Netscape was made by Mozilla...who are the makers of Firefox I remember when Netscape Communicator first came out. I thought it was really cool that it had email, browser, address book and html editor all in one. Apparently, you can still download the final version. I found older versions of Firefox online and reinstalled the last one prior to the crap version that is out now. I turned off automatic updates so I should be good for a while. I don't get why with android phones being everywhere, no one seems to make a decent browser like they do for windows. All of them are way less in features.
