I think it did better than they expected considering there really wasn’t a “hit” on it.

Since Perry has described it as sort of completing the promise he had made to his girlfriend, it is possible that it wasn't his best effort. To me, that would have involved getting top level writers, producer, players, etc. involved and a much greater PR campaign. Regardless, glad to see him back.

yea I don't think he did this as much for the fans as he did it to keep his promise. Either way that he now has an "out"... in that he could say he's kept his promise... and he's really not into touring.... just maybe putting out the occasional song or two....
...then just fade away..... again...
