2000 National Guard sworn in as Deputy US Marshals. No reply from US Marshal service when asked for details. For someone who wants unity, Biden sure isn't being very friendly to his former opponents. It's almost like he's afraid of something or has something to hide.
Biden isn't in charge.... Trump still is... all the NG buildup is at his orders....

Hmm... I believe I saw a report that the national guard buildup in DC was at the request\order of Pelosi. The commentary was that she was demanding more troops then what advisors were recommending.

The DC National Guard answers directly to the President, as CinC, via the DOJ. Now, there are several agreements, between DC and surrounding states providing for providing National Guard units in various circumstances. But, in most cases, providing NG units to DC requires the tacit approval of the President, as CinC.
The real question is "what are they trying to prevent?" Its a huge defensive posturing...
They seem to be in place to prevent a military action.
The sad truth is that the NG are are likely the "least ready" of the armed forces... so if there's a showdown between NG and active military carrying out orders to arrest/detain treasoncritters... the NG is gonna be fodder....
I'm curious how many of the NG would simply step aside when regular military bearing are down on their position....

What would you do? I never served, so I don't know what the rules say about what you do when you are being challenged by your own forces. I was just reading about Stanley McChrystal, the General that Obama sacked for badmouthing him to some magazine. Apparently, he's a never trumper. Even though he is out of the military now, it shows that there is not a Trump only military. So if you have a Flynn vs McChrystal type of command ideological struggle, what do you do?

So you are saying that Trump ordered the 25,000 NG troops into DC? What reason would the regular military be conducting a operation in DC?

What I'm saying is Biden doesn't have the authority.... yet.
The reason would be EO 13848... specifically this paragraph.
This binds those agencies to prosecute election fraud, and each of those agencies (except for the DNI) have policing authority... meaning they can arrest people....
There are multiple states represented in the current NG deployment: Virginia, South Carolina, California, Florida, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Louisiana, Minnesota, Maine...
As I said, all of this a huge defensive posturing... 30,000 troops??? It has to be based on some sort of intelligence...
So what are they protecting against?
Or.
What operation are they about to launch?

I think those departments have been so corrupted that they would fail to follow this directive. We are now down to the wire and I would think the trigger would have been pulled if the Trump administration was going to make a move. I guess we will know in less then 48 hours.

To what purpose? After being framed for the first capitol fiasco, his supporters are not going to fall for it again. Who's he concerned about?

And yet Haspel and senior leadership are still there. Same with Wray and FBI. Trump should have canned these clowns a long time ago, given the military access to their systems and cleaned house. Let Flynn and Powell provide the names for new leadership and move forward. Senate would have to confirm higher level appointees, but Trump could just rotate people he trusts who already have clearance through the "acting" role if needed to keep them from forcing him to put traitors back into place. Too bad the clock has run out. Biden will entrench, systematize, and codify the corruption.

Maybe the Guard are there to keep people in, while they conduct mass arrests of all the criminals in our government.(I wish)

My Pillow is now banned at Kohl's and Bed Bath and Beyond. I sometimes shop at Kohls, but no more. I can get what I need elsewhere. I have only been into the other place a couple of times, not really impressed. Now I know I don't need to go back.

Trump posted his farewell address online a while ago. Reports of moving trucks at MarALago. Either he's really done for now, or he's THE master at deception. My gut today tells me that he will announce a new party next week. The Republican brand is tarnished beyond repair both inside and outside the party. I expect all kinds of "investigations" to begin in Congress regarding anything that they can throw at Trump and supporters. If for no other reason than to force them to lawyer up and spend a fortune defending themselves like Gen Flynn had to do. Trump could afford high priced attorneys, most everyone else can not so they will fold, take a deal, or whatever just to end it.
