The website is pretty lame. News updates every few months, even when they were on tour. Their Facebook page has tons more pictures from the tour. I guess they believe that is where everyone is these days.

They never really figured out social media...

That's what I would expect from the management group that I am paying. Oh well.

Still sucks. But a solid link to a MySpace page. Probably millions of $ left on the table over the years due to poor marketing/product management. I still get that they are musicians, not businessmen, but seriously after almost 50 years you would think that they would figure some things out.

Once the legal issues are settled, hopefully QPrime management revamps the site. It sucks. Most of the current set-up is leftover from when Neal's ex was running it. Forget her name.

That's been most of a decade at least. It shows you the level of commitment that Azoff had to really actively managing the band. If your management team can't spend a few thousand dollars paying a webmaster to modernize and maintain it, you need new management. Hopefully QPrime has the commitment to do that.

Lori Carpenter Trying to remember the names of Neal's wives and girlfriends would be like try to memorize the phone book. Was she the one who he was engaged to when he dumped her for the current wife?

Not sure if Michaele came after Lori or not. After Ross and Smitty got sacked (again), Lori made a pretty interesting comment on YT about Ross being a dick. I'll try to find it.

The most recent news is from May 2020. Nothing about new members, new music or anything else. It's like they have taken lessons from Perry on how to vanish, at least as far as their website is concerned.

The most recent update was deleting Smitty and Ross from the website's band lineup section. Hopefully, as we get closer to the album release, we will see some sort of update. The imagery on the site (an American flag guitar pick??) is lame as all fuck. Things still feel very much up in the air. The only member who really even talks about Journey is Neal. The other main members (Arnel, Cain) are in their own separate worlds.

Honestly, now that (hopefully) he can use the name... I'd prefer Neal pivot back to JTT...
He's a players player, and thrives on live. JTT is a perfect way to introduce material from Journey, Look into the Future, Next, Infinity, Evolution and Departure to younger folks to younger folks who'd likely never hear any of it....

I think it's still about the money for both Jon and Neal. JTT makes Jon nothing, except maybe a few dollars in royalties. The size of the crowds shown in the pictures I have seen tell me that JTT will be lucky to break even if Neal keeps it up. They both lost tens of millions last year from covid cancelations and their touring years window is closing quickly as they age. I think that the other discussion about ticket overabundance this year will hit them as well. For Journey not to have the new album in the can and a tour at the starting line tells me that their new management is not working very successfully for them. The website is just the window into the poor management.

I agree Journey "pays the bills"... but i wasn't talking about that.
Journey can do nothing, not fix their website, not put out new music, and they can still tour and make money. They have been for years...
A new album for Journey while nice, really is fiscally meaningless. It won't translate to ticket sales.. and that's no slagging them.... it's just the reality that their fanbase goes to concerts to hear the DD... not new music. The simple truth is that Journey makes its money being part of classic rock tours, where they can get a guarantee to show up, a cut of ticket sales and sell merch.
The one constant for Neal is that he needs variety, and playing the same old songs every night, regardless of income.. gets old. He's even admitted that.
Joe Elliot and Phil Collen each have side-gigs... yet Leppard constantly tours, does Vegas residencies, etc...
JTT (just like his solo albums) is a "relief valve" for his musical creativity.
Just look at him here... he's BEAMING... this is the Schon I remember... fully immersed, engaged...
He can do both.. he did before this legal drama... and now that it's over he should continue.....

Good points. The legal stuff hit at the best possible time with covid since they could not tour anyway.
