I understand that 2019 is a year off for Journey. Will they be back in 2020 or have we seen the last of them for a while/forever?

I am glad that the early music is getting a bit of a revival. It's hard to believe that the band has reached the end of the road, but I don't see them continuing for much longer. I am not a fan of "farewell" tours, I would just rather see them go away into their own next phases of their careers (if anything).

the Journey through Time videos are amazing... whilst I find anything Journey related on youtube pretty boring.

I saw them about four or five years ago when they were touring with Tower of Power, and Steve Miller. The last tour with Dean. They came out as usual like they were going to blow the other bands off the stage. Eight songs were great. Then came "She's A Mystery", and the concert died. I had hopes of revival when Wheel in the Sky started. They did a A M radio version. Short and over. After that, the only one on stage that looked like he gave a crap was Arnel. He tried hard, sounded great with a band phoning it in. We walked out on Lovin,Touchin,Squeezin, along with a number of other people. I've never seen a concert die like that.
The only band that I would be interested in seeing now is Toto. Seems like when they come here, they chose a shitty venue, or play out in the middle of no where hundereds of miles away, so I've passed on Toto twice.
Journey was depressing enough for me. I've never seen so many wheel chairs, walkers, and O2 tanks at a concert. There comes a time for everything. Maybe it's theirs.

Yup. Smitty I could understand though... he has a vibrant jazz career... and has done well for himself as a jazz player. Cain on the other needs to just take the year off.. and not sing
I think this is the turning point for Schon... when he realises that he's having more fun with JTT than he's ever had with Journey in the last 5 years...

Neal is trapped. Large crowds pay the bills, but smaller shows allow him to play what he loves. I think a Journey Through Time/Journey tour might be in order. That would be a LOT of Journey. But those JTT shows would have to be dispersed throughout the normal tour and I’m not sure how that could/would work. There’s simply not enough of a market for them to open every show.

I Can see that.... I can also see a point when Journey simply doesn't draw anymore.. after taking a year off will they draw when they return? Neal isn't poor either... When the band had Herbie selling off their assets Herbie convinced Neal to take half of Nightmare. I'm sure they boith did well when it was sold. Also Neal (and the rest of the band) are still getting residuals from album sales, streams, and copyright use.
Neal is a rarity in that he lives to play live....as long as JTT shows growth I'm sure he'd rather ride the new horse instead of the old one...
