ultimateclassicrock.com/styx-first-post-covid-concert/I copied the picture and blew it up. I can see just the edge of another guitar on the far right side. Usually that's where Tommy is. Who is the dark haired guy to the left of Todd on the drums? It's a six string, so it is not Chuck. Looks too young to be him anyway.

Interesting. I know that he's the guy who's been writing with Tommy for a while, but didn't know that he was performing with them. I didn't see him listed on the website either. I wonder if the new songs need another guitar to fill the space?

Probably to cover parts.... most of these guys comp multiple takes on multiple tracks together to make a part... then have to figure out how to actually play it.. and sometimes realize it will take more than one guitarist live to do it...

Man that’s a slow and plodding version of Crystal Ball. Sucks when bands get old.

I wonder if the new songs need another guitar to fill the space? Funny that Styx never needed to do such a thing when playing live during the DDY era. It also seems to me that there is less collaboration between actual band members with their recent albums. There is not a single song nor full lead vocal from JY on COTC.

Lots of the early live vids seem “phoned in” or at least very formulaic or something. No spontaneity, I don’t know. Robotic! Ha. . In this one, which is the opening number, JY seems to forget the lyrics and where is guitar parts are. Recent set list The Fight of Our Lives Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) The Grand Illusion Lady Reveries Light Up Crash of the Crown Miss America Sound the Alarm Crystal Ball Red Storm Rockin' the Paradise Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man) Too Much Time on My Hands Come Sail Away Mr. Roboto Renegade
