Schon brings in ideas... the others bring ideas... Cain turns them into songs...
Because his songwriting is literally now the DNA of the bands songwriting since Escape... everything Cain writes "sounds like a Journey song"...
Listen to his own music... lot's of it could be Journey songs...
Like this one...

The clip states "musical ministries" or whatever - so it's more religious solo work. His new logo looks like a scarab with wings.

Cain story up on UCR today.. ultimateclassicrock.com/jonathan-cain-new-journey-music/“Cain adds that he was also looking for "a New Year's feeling" for the song, an arena-caliber anthem he premiered during the holiday at the City of Destiny Church in Florida, where his wife is also pastor. He recorded the track - along with others that will be part of a new EP, likely out this fall - at his own Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville, joined by Jason Derlatka, a Journey auxiliary musician who's been promoted to full-time membership in the band and is, according to Cain, "Journey's secret weapon."

Based on what? Neal is the one who brought Derlatka on-board initially (at Journey Through Time show). Jon has also had Deen and Travis collaborate on his Christian stuff in the past. Means absolutely nothing. In the interview, Cain even mentions that Narada/Neal were writing songs and he provided the lyrics. Sounds like the ball - and musical direction - is in Neal's court.
