I stumbled across this on YouTube today. Deen playing with Jay Demarcus of the country group Rascal Flatts and Jason Scheff of Chicago. Arrangement is good, Scheff sounds better live than I have heard him in years. Demarcus's voice isn't a good fit for this, IMO. Deen would have been a better choice. Deen's drumming is solid and fits the song.

Another. Apparently they play covers as Generation Radio. Deen singing SW here.

Deen was in this band (first called The Rise Above) before Narada fell through and he re-joined Journey full-time. Deen said the plan was to do both bands. However, he is no longer in the band (now called Generation Radio). He has been replaced by a former Tom Petty drummer, Steve Ferrone. Deen, however, is on their first album set to be released by Frontiers shortly.
Before he dropped Generation Radio, Neal even did some slight razzing on Deen on social media at one point, openly writing on FB, "how many bands you in bro?"

If Neal and Jon wanted to go a little different direction, Scheff on bass for Journey would be a solid move. He's known more for the Chicago ballads, I think, but there are some deep cuts that are more rockers on some of their albums that he does really well.

First it was Randy, then it was Marco, now it's Todd. It's a mess. Never should have fired Ross.

Seems like he was ready to be done one way or another.

Love it, song has punch and sounds well produced, sonically it's pleasing. It makes me sad for Journey, as the well seems to have dried up.

Weird drum intro for this song. I expected a much faster tempo based on it. Good song, though.
