..... why not put some effort into getting that warehouse of video culled through and get some of that old content out?
Years ago, I used to spend time in Secondlife, and had a good friend there named Mark Shilts (RL name)... he's since passed away. He was pretty tight with some of the Journey techs, and was privy to a lot of insider stuff... told me he'd been told they had a warehouse full of concert video. We'd always talk about why they never put that stuff out.... he always said getting them to agree on anything was like herding cats.
Seriously... Now, in the twilight of their career, I can't imagine any of the rights holders would object to this. It's really just Schon, Cain and Perry. I can't see Valory, Smith or Rolie objecting either. It promotes the legacy of the band, the band at their prime, helps music streaming and sales.. I really can't see any downside to this. I could even see Sony supporting this as it helps the sale of the catalog. Schon can tour the band off of this, with or without special guests...
Put together a Greatest hits package with a couple of live concerts spanning their whole career in Blu-Ray and/or 4K, in Atmos Audio.

I don't know what sales of their last GH compilation or live compilation was, but I think that with all of the stuff available on Youtube, it might be something that wouldn't sell much. I am not sure that there is anything else I would buy, as I already have what I think I would want.
I would be interested in another "Behind the Music" type of thing, updated with what's gone on in the past 25 years or so, but I doubt that any of the guys really want to revisit much of that.
George Tickner's passing a couple of months ago does offer a reminder that the days are limited.
I do wonder if we have seen the last live show that Journey will do.

I don't disagree with the idea that people are saturated with GH stuff. I'm not interested in another BTM.. that's a dead horse and I agree the other band members would likely not want to revisit that either... I'd be willing to bet that the shows they captured were done with 35mm film, and that translates to 4k or better resolution, 70mm film would translate to 6k/8k resolution... which would look absolutely fantastic with today's TV tech. I'd pay $$ for a 4k resolution BluRay of an 80s concert in Atmos sound.
This is Led Zep filmed in 35mm... and this resolution is only 1080p... and its gorgeous...
