Neal's listed as a client of a publicity firm called TAG. It's clearly an amateur operation - which Neal likes because it's cheap. Over the weekend, TAG was tweeting out non-stop articles attacking Jonathan and his wife. On Sunday, TAG posted a link to a FB page that they (TAG) claimed was the official Journey fan page. On it, was a poll asking whether Gregg Rolie should be included on the upcoming tour. The fake-Journey FB page also claimed that both Jon and Arnel were refusing to perform if Gregg is allowed to appear. One of the main commenters on the page was Lady M's personal assistant, Jeff Elmore. Elmore regarded Arnel's decision as a "betrayal" to Neal. There is clearly a power struggle going on right now. After fans called out the divisive bullshit going on and the likely culprits behind it (aka The Schons), the fake Journey fan page disappeared. The way I see it...if Jon and Arnel are united to make decisions, that's the end of it. Majority rules. If Neal doesn't like it, he can quit. Arnel may not be an owner of the business, but to me, he holds all the cards. Without him at this point, there is no Journey for Neal or Jon. Neal could get Gregg or any other keyboard player and people might not care. Jon could get any number of guitar players and people might not care. No one is going to pay to see Journey with yet another lead singer. They might pay for Neal's JTT, but the Journey money machine is done without AP.
I understand your point TJ.. but disagree.... Neal's so full of himself he probably thinks he can just go YouTube searching for another singer like he did with Arnel and just soldier on...
And to be honest I think the likelyhood he could find a replacement for Arnel, who is kinda at the end of his ability to sing the DD in their original key, would be fairly easy... there's lots of 20-something singers who'd love being a hired hand making $200K a year, being the lead singer of Journey... it would be a career boost for most young singers..

I don't doubt that he would try, I just don't picture the number of fans who pay to see them today continuing to do so with yet another lead singer.

Then you have bands like Foreigner that no longer have a single original member in the band. People still seem to be buying tickets to their shows.

I just think that Journey is different. So much publicity around SP not being there since 98. Again with Arnel joining. I don't think that many fans can tell the difference between Lou Gramm and Kelly Hanson. Ditto, Lawrence Gowan and DDY. REO might be different a little with Kevin Cronin, but I don't think enough to matter. In all of those cases, none were as big as Journey or had the type of careers that Journey has had. None of them are in the RORHOF, not that it means really that much. It's all arguable, I know, and the only way anyone finds out is for Arnel to leave and Neal/Whomever try to make it go again.

I would disagree when it comes to Styx. Gowan neither sounds or acts like DeYoung and vice versa. DeYoung being replaced severely fractured the band's fan base. Even to this very day. Which is something that I don't think occurred with Journey. One of the reasons these classic rock acts are still able to successfully tour is that a good portion of their audience is the casual fan. That don't get caught up in the drama or the lack of original members not being there. As long as they get to hear the songs they remember from their youth they are happy.

Neal is getting a bit old to try and rebuild the band, something he has to know.

Problem is... Neal thinks HE is the brand... that he's indispensable... when he literally ISN'T....
To the average fan, who like Journey but don't really know the band members/history... they likely know "Perry" and that's it. Neal was never the focal point of the band to the average fan... he just wasn't presented that way nor was he perceived that way. And that's no disrespect to his obvious talent. Journey was always about the band, not one individual. Its the fans who made it about Perry, and there's no way Neal could compete with that, no matter how hard he tries.
... And he's trying TO THIS DAY.
No one cares who the guitarist in Journey is... except Neal.
Its also kinda surprising that Droid is surprised that Arnel (a devout conservative Catholic) is tight with Cain (a devout conservative Christian)... Droid literally can't do any social math..

I just saw two youtube videos posted that are saying Arnel and Jon don't want Gregg in the 50th reunion. I didn't watch either b/c of reading Arnel's post. A lot a drama all the way around in this band.

What's rumor is he talking about? Neal's low-rent publicity firm (TAG) has been engaging in a media blitz against Cain's wife. Over the weekend, they kicked it up a notch and started targeting Arnel. They created a fake Journey fan FB page and called it the official fan page. On this page, they ran a poll asking about Gregg Rolie returning. They alleged that Arnel and Cain refuse to perform if Gregg takes the stage. After fans started connecting the dots (Tag is doing Neal's dirty work), they quickly shut it down. Neal's wife and her dimbulb personal assistant have also been claiming that Arnel and Cain are against Rolie returning. The way I see it.....the band core is a trio: Cain/Schon/Pineda. If the majority votes one way, it should be respected. Instead, Neal and his cronies are sewing more division and toxicity. It really doesn't matter why they (JC and AP) don't want Rolie. At this point, Pineda and Cain prolly don't want to respect any of Neal's wishes/requests. And who can blame them?

A website erroneously "reported" that Cain approved of Rolie returning this tour. The website (Q104.3) has no source or actual quotes. It was obvious made up clickbait bullshit. However, Neal's wife immediately started celebrating the news. Then Neal did too.
Lady M orgasmically cheered:
"CONGRATULATIONS NEAL SCHON GREGG ROLIE AND JOURNEY!! THANK YOU JOURNEY FANS FOR YOUR VOICE IN UNITY WITH US FOR HAVING GREGG ROLIE JOIN THE JOURNEY 50TH ANNIVERSARY FREEDOM TOUR 2023! #WELCOMING GREGG ROLIE FOR THE TOUR"
and
"Your voice was heard about Gregg Rolie!! ......This is A MONUMENTAL HISTORICAL TOUR FOR JOURNEY"
Soon after, Q1043.3 removed the article and apologized. The Schons are gullible fools with no inside connections to their own band. You can't make this stuff up.

Are they gonna go out on tour and act like nothing ever happened? That'll be some great acting.

I wonder how long until the new year manager asks for a huge raise to put up with this. Sheesh.
